Smoke, Water & Mold Mitigation

SMOKE MITIGATION

A process to eliminate effects of smoke damage to the interior of a home or business. The chemical makeup of smoke continues to cause damage to possessions and structure after the fire is out. Smoke is very corrosive and causes pitting to metal, porcelain and more until mitigation is complete. Smoke mitigation prevents further damage and keeps the cost of the claim down and can prevent items such as faucets, appliances, toilets, sinks, hinges, knobs and more from needing replaced. Setting up Air Scrubbers and Hydroxyl machines begins to clean the air, preventing long term damage, eliminating dangerous air quality and odors.

WATER MITIGATION

The first step is often water extraction following an incident. Prompt water removal and drying allows the best opportunity to minimize the claim, salvage contents and prevent further water damage. HRN has certified and experienced employees who will provide a plan to dry out the affected area and return your home or business to its pre-incident condition. This may include water extraction, removing carpet, contents, moldings, drilling holes in walls, opening ceilings or walls, removing insulation, drywall etc. The next steps may include treatment of anti-microbial agents, placement of dehumidifiers and/or air movers. During the water mitigation the equipment will usually need 3-5 days to dry out the affected area. HRN will return as needed to monitor and test moisture levels until the drying process is complete. All insurance policies have provisions for mitigation. HRN typically does not need to provide an estimate for mitigation and has agreed to work for “agreed pricing”  provided and set by all the insurance carriers. HRN will work with the insurance carrier on the scope of work for any necessary structural repairs.

MOLD MITIGATION

HRN employs a trained and certified team to mitigate mold damage to strict industry standards. Mold is an allergen and the affected area may need to be contained using plastic, HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filter machines, and other industry tools to return the air to a healthy status. The mitigation manager will work with you on a step by step plan.
